CMA Lends Hand to Traveling Vietnam Memorial

The Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall will be visiting Morgan County, Ohio this spring thanks to the efforts of two local VFW posts and the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA). It's scheduled to make a stop in the small village of McConnelsville, where it will be on display from May 23 through the 28th, 2012.

The CMA's involvement comes by way of escorting the wall and its entourage into town, joined by the VFW Riders to form a group that could be as large as 1,200 motorcycles strong. Escorting the wall is apparently nothing new for the CMA; they have provided similar escorts at various places around the country.

CMA officials have also offered to staff the wall with Christian counselors throughout the event. They note that many Vietnam vets prefer to visit the memorial in the wee hours of the morning before the general public arrives. The CMA believes this is the perfect time to offer counseling, prayer, and other support services. They also offered to provide a Vietnam veteran pastor who will come and conduct a Sunday morning service if officials so desire.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association is a non-denominational group of motorcycle enthusiasts who are also born again Christians desiring to use their love for riding as a ministry tool to spread the gospel message. Their custom motorcycle patch denotes as such, with the image of a Bible and a hand dead center, with banners above and below declaring the club's mission of "Riding for the Son."

If you are a member of the small motorcycle club, or any organization for that matter, you can have your own custom club patches made through a company like The Cheap Place. All you need do is submit original design and a minimum border, and you're on your way.
