Early Christmas Presents for Special Needs Children

Elks Club bikers bring an early Christmas to special needs childrenWe all know that Christmas is a time of goodwill so we were pleased to hear about a certain biker group who brought Christmas cheer to a group of special needs kids this week in Jersey City.  A number of Elks Club members were seen riding their motorcycles through the city bringing with them hundreds of gifts that had been donated by members of the club.  And even more exciting was the fact that they had Santa Claus along for the ride as they made their way to the Saint Claire's Children's Home.

The 10th annual party was also attended by children from the neighborhood and by past Saint Claire's children and all were invited to speak to Santa and get a toy.  Paul Fideski, who began this toy drive in 2004, said, 'It's great to give to the unfortunate around the holiday season'.  And we agree; what better way to spread the Christmas spirit than by seeing the happy faces of children as they get to speak to Santa and get a toy for being good kids.

Saint Claire's has been working with the Elks Club for the past ten years and founder Faye Zealand said, 'It's a big help that they do this. She also told of how impressed she was at the number of toys that had been donated.  It would appear that the people of Jersey have been extremely generous.  No doubt we will see more and more of these drives over the coming weeks from biker clubs all over the states. Good on em!
