Biker Club Patches | Black and Red Club Color Rank Patches Set of 10 RanksEach biker group or organization establishes their own ranking system, terminology, and patches. With many groups in existence, it is quite common for some overlap to exist. Most bike clubs have a formal hierarchy structure. This structure is generally:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Sergeant at Arms or Officers

When a new "officer" is elected from a group of people, often due to another officer who is unable to carry out his or her job tasks, such as due to sickness or no longer being affiliated with the group, the group generally is in agreement of the process. Additional rankings may include Road Captain, Patchmembers, Life Members, and Prospects. Ex-Members may leave the group under good and bad terms. Friends of the Club are individuals who are close supporters of the biker group. They tend to be individuals who spend time with the clubhouse but are not official members. Associates are the lowest level. These tend to be a group of people who are linked in some way to the group, but not directly such as family or special interests.

Patching Within Groups

Biker Club Patches | Ride or Die PatchEach biker organization establishes a specific color or style for patches. It is common to find patches available and customizable for each of the ranks listed above. These patches help to tell anyone the rank of the individual within the gang in a prominent manner. Various groups, such as those from the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) will have different designs.

Additionally, each chapter of the motorcycle association has its own designations. This may be the addition of the chapter name or a different design, color scheme, or special emblem.

While anyone can purchase biker club rank patches and customize their own, to be officially recognized by the group, individuals need to earn the patch through the specific requirements of the group. Chapters and groups themselves establish requirements for moving up within ranks.

Biker club rank patches are a key component to showcasing the rank of any individual. While there is a great deal to different between biker groups and chapters, each patch is representative of membership, respect, and history within the group.
