Will Glow in the Dark Bikes Reduce Accidents?

Electro-luminescent+bikeWe are sure there are many out there who will be delighted to see the introduction of the new 'Glow in the Dark' motorcycle. No matter how competent one is at riding their beloved motorcycle, there is always an issue of safety when mobile with the wind blowing through the hair.

The truth of the matter is there have been a large number of motorcycle accidents that have occurred because the driver of the other vehicle did not see the biker. A report by the University of Southern California's Hurt Study found that the main cause of motorcycle accidents is the failure of motorists to spot motorcycles.  Of the 4500 motorcycle accidents that were analyzed by the study, 75% of them involved a crash with another vehicle.

The fact that many motorcyclists wear dark leathers when out riding can be a contributing factor. Therefore, the introduction of a motorcycle that glows in the dark must be welcome news to many. The glow in the dark bike was the brainchild of bike painting experts Shawn Mastrian and Andy Zsinko who use lumilor to give motorcycles the glow in the dark effect.

However, if you think that painting your bike with lumilor a step too far at the moment, you could always invest in some reflective motorcycle patches for your leathers to help you be seen in the dark. A number of these on your jacket will ensure you are definitely seen by other drivers.
