Are you from the great country of Mexico?  If you are, you may wish to show your heritage by adding the Mexico Flag Patch to your jacket, pants, or cap.  This cool Flag Patch faithfully recreates the Mexican flag right down to the center emblem.  The flag is split into three different vertical sections, each with a different color.  The current flag has been in use since 1968, although a similar design has been used since 1821.  The three colors, green, white, and red, have been used by Mexico since the country won its independence from Spain.

The National Liberation Army was the first group to use green, white, and red on their standards.  One interesting thing to note is that there are no official shades of green or red, although there are some common shades used.  The white stripe features the Aztec pictograph for Tenochtitlan, the city that is now known as Mexico City.  The symbol includes a ribbon done in the national colors.  Above that is an eagle perched on a cactus clutching a serpent in its talons.  The cactus is on a rock that is set in the center of a lake, just like the old city of Tenochtitlan was.  Legends say that the Aztec gods told them to build their city on the spot where they saw an eagle eating a snake, and they adopted that symbol for their major city.
