Advantages to Being a Lone Wolf

lone wolf howling at the moon patchBeing a lone wolf biker sounds very lonely to many people.  After all, a lot of motorcycle riders love talking with others about their bikes, going on rides together, and hanging out.  A lone wolf rider does not always do things by himself, but he is not one to join a motorcycle club or get together very often with others to ride.  However, there are some advantages to being without a club.

Lone wolves never have to worry about going to a biker club meeting or volunteering any time to group activities.  Some people love going to club events, but for those who do not, it's very refreshing to not have any commitments.  Lone wolf bikers don't have to deal with that annoying person in the club (and there's almost always one) or make a dish for the group's annual Christmas pot luck.  Their only bike-related commitments are the ones they make themselves.  They also don't have to pay club dues or wear any club patches.  Of course, they might want to wear a patch identifying them as a lone wolf, like the beautiful lone wolf howling at the moon patch.

Naturally, lone wolves often enjoy riding by themselves, but they also don't mind company from time to time.  What's great about being a lone wolf is that you don't necessarily feel like you have to have company on the open road.  You can go out riding for several hours or even days by yourself and love every minute of it.
