Love That Native American? Add This Eagle Patch

Turquoise Eagle PatchNative American jewelry and artwork is very popular.  Some, like the large turquoise necklaces and other jewelry, have been sought after for years.  Other items come and go, such as the Kokopeli statue that was incredibly popular for a while during the late 90s but isn't quite the must-have any more.  Native American patches, like the necklaces, have always been popular.  One of the most interesting ones is the Turquoise Eagle Patch.  This colorful patch may not look like a traditional eagle, but it will certainly catch people's eyes.

The eagle is very significant to Native American culture.  They are said to be the messengers of the Creator and of those who are no longer on earth.  Because of this, they are considered sacred animals.  They carry the prayers of the living to the Creator and, according to legend, are the only living things allowed to see the Creator's face.  Native Americans use eagle feathers to decorate their headdresses and other ceremonial items.  According to U.S. law, only Native Americans may possess live bald or golden eagles or their parts.

This patch uses a mixture of different colors to represent the eagles.  There are actually two eagles on the patch.  The two look like they're forming the wings of a larger eagle.  Small hearts and other jewels decorate the patch.  Turquoise is the main color, but it's set off with red, white, and black.  It's very bright and looks really nice in the middle of a jacket.  The patch measures 9 by 7.5 inches, so it is fairly large.  However, it's easy to sew or iron on, and it looks nice on any material.
