So I must admit that today's selection, the Ride Free American Eagle patch, wasn't chosen for any noble, heartwarming, or statement-making purpose. Even though it's in both the Eagle Patches and POW/MIA sections at The Cheap Place, I didn't even choose it for that reason. No, it was the color and the look that got me. It sort of reminds me of an old black-and-white movie where they re-master the thing and colorize only bits and pieces of it.
It's a 11.5" back patch done mostly in black and white. Yet the motorcycle is colored in red,white, and blue, and the lettering is white with a glowing blue border. Seeing this patch from a distance is enough to catch your eye and force a second look. Seeing it up close is an entirely different experience. The Cheap Place even has a picture of one sewn to the back of a black leather vest. You've got to check it out! If nothing else,it is stunning against black leather.
As a bonus, wearing it shows your support for America's POWs and MIAs. And you can never go wrong there. This patch would be a great choice for a vet bikers, especially ones who have seen combat duty. It's a way to remind us non-vets of the sacrifices you made and the ones you left behind. If you don't have a black leather vest, any kind of jacket will do. Just get one and wear it...proudly.
