Brings me great sadness to say our good friend Tom Recel the creator of Biker Design and Biker Clothing Company has passed away today. I met Tom back in 1999 when I came to Florida from Turkey to go to college here in Daytona. We used to hang out at his house every weekend watching soccer games from back home. I was going to college and he was just starting his Vending business.
I was first introduced to the business side of Motorcycle Rallies by Tom. He was kind enough to give me one of my first jobs after I graduated from college. August 2005 was my first year in Sturgis working for Tom in one of his many tents that he would setup in Sturgis. I would never forget that one day we went to a Trout farm somewhere near Sturgis and he had a piece of fish bone stuck in his throat and was gagging and complaining the whole time, kind of reminded me of my childhood days when I would always get a fish bone stuck on the back of my throat. I told him what my parents used to tell me, "Eat Bread!" as he tried to clear his throat all night.
Those were some good memories we had with Tom and he will be dearly missed. This Cancer really does Suck! Only 54 years old. May he rest in peace and join his father in heaven who I know he dearly missed. Thank you for being a part of our lives.
