We just got done with Daytona Bike Week here in Florida. The weather has been really kind to Bikers except the first Friday and Saturday. Vendors seemed happy the first week but complained about the lack of bikers after the first weekend was over. We were riding around taking photos and talking to different vendors, I've heard some say things were great, others say it was about average and some say Worst Bike Week ever which is kind of strange given the Main Street was so busy the first weekend that they were only allowing foot traffic, Not even Bikes. I suppose the event is not promoted as well it used to be. Some blame it on the winter storms across the country. Personally living here in Daytona the last 15 years there has definitely been a huge decline in the event. Back when I first started TheCheapPlace they were vendors all up and down US-1. That has totally vanished these last 3 years. Beach Street is a big mess with the old vending buildings all torn down. One side of the street is still active, but you can definitely tell the ugliness of the situation looking into empty fenced off lots. If it wasn't for Indian Motorcycles big location and nice setup things could have been a lot worse. Well we wish all Rally Vendors better days. There is Leesburg Bike Fest coming up in a few weeks.
