There are many different Halloween costumes out there. Some follow current trends, but some are classic. Dressing as a police officer, for example, is not exactly original, but it does make for a good costume if you don't have anything else to wear. It's also pretty easy to put together, too. All you really need is a pair of dark pants, a black shirt that resembles what officers in your area wear, and a few Police Emblem Shoulder patches to add to a jacket.
Getting this costume together doesn't have to take a lot of time or money. You probably already have a dark pair of pants that will work. Black or even brown shoes can also work for a police officer costume. The shirt itself should be black, too. Then you'll want to find something that looks like a policeman's badge to add to it. If all else fails, go look in the toy section of your local store. You can probably find a plastic one without too much difficulty.
You'll need a few jacket patches, of course. In addition to the police emblem patches, you may also want to try to find a patch with your last name on it. Really, any name will do, you can create an entirely new character if you want. Or if you can find a patch with the name of a police officer from a movie or TV show, that would work, too. It's Halloween, so you can be as crazy as you want to be!
