Imagine walking down a busy Dallas street only to come upon a group of Marines running through the streets as though they were in the middle of a war. It sounds like something out of a low-budget Hollywood action film, yet it may very well become reality this summer. It turns out the U.S. military is set to participate in Realistic Military Trading (RMT) that will 'invade' portions of Texas, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.
Military officials claim the training is necessary to prepare soldiers to fight an unconventional war on American soil. What they are not saying is who they expect the enemy to be, should such a war break out. However, we are not left in the dark. A handful of leaked Army training manuals explicitly mention Texas and her right-leaning ideologies and groups, such as the Tea Party as potential enemies of the state.
One MP training manual leaked in 2012 explains how U.S. military personnel should handle civil disturbances by confiscating weapons and killing dissidents. Those who survive the military action would be imprisoned and re-educated in order to force them to adopt a more favorable view of the government.
This may sound fanciful, but the documents are already out in the open. The U.S. military is openly and unashamedly concerned that right wing American citizens may just be rebellious enough to take up arms against the government. Training for any such disturbance is now the norm, which explains why the military will be participating in RMT this summer. It might also partially explain why Texas was chosen as one of the sites.
Government Reasoning Ludicrous
Military claims that RMT is necessary to improve coordination between the Department of Defense and local law enforcement are ludicrous on their face. One need only look at what happened in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Understand that the military has no intention of working with local officials in the event of a military action. Local officials can work with them, but the military will call all the shots.
One of the results of Katrina was an impressive amount of looting among New Orleans citizens who felt they had a right to steal whatever they wanted. What happened next should scare the daylights out of anyone that believes in freedom: Mayor Ray Nagin declared martial law and sent police officials door-to-door to confiscate legally owned weapons. Local police were later joined by U.S. marshals, National Guardsmen and other law enforcement agencies to disarm the public. In the end, local police were made subservient to the military forces.
Government Fear and Intimidation
Anyone that believes RMT is necessary to prepare our military and their local counterparts for an eventual rebellion is also one who naïvely believes in the supposed 'good intentions' of our political leaders. Make no mistake, the training that is planned for this summer has nothing to do with preparing the military. It is all about fear and intimidation. The government is flexing its muscles as a way of telling citizens to mind their P's and Q's.
With the extent of the spying operations we now know our government is conducting here at home, it is impossible to convincingly argue that an armed rebellion could be successfully organized without Washington knowing about it. So here's one more thing to make no mistake about if the military suspects any uprising is brewing they will do exactly what they did in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. They will confiscate any and all weapons before the rebellion is even underway.
No Longer the Land of the Free
A fitting way to end this rather alarming post is with a question: do you believe America is still the 'land of the free'? If so, what is your reasoning? Many people still believe our individual freedoms and liberties are as strong as they were in 1776, primarily due to a lack of ignorance of history. Reality says otherwise.
Over the last several hundred years, our freedoms have been slowly eroded by government leaders more interested in their own welfare than that of the country. These people shamelessly claim to care about the little guy, only to turn around and stab him in the back time and again. What's most alarming is the fact that our leaders are willing to do what they do even though they know they are jeopardizing the futures of their own grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
If you live in Texas, Nevada or one of the other mentioned states, beware of a potential summertime invasion. If you live elsewhere in the country, relax. Your turn will come soon enough.
