Are you a Club Prospect? This Patch is for You!

Prospect patchThere are a number of different ranks within a motorcycle club.  The highest levels are, of course, the elected officers like president, vice-president, etc.  Then there are some appointed positions like sergeant-at-arms.  Most people in a club are full members with all the rights that come with that.  Most clubs don't have any other ranks, but some have what is called prospect membership.  This membership is probationary, which means that they will eventually either move up to full member or be asked to leave the group.  Clubs may give out these Prospect Patches for these members to wear until they become members.  It's a great Uniform Patch that matches many of the others available on The Cheap Place.

What does it mean to be a prospect member?  Some people join a club just to see what it's like.  They might not be sure they really want to be a part of a club.  Others want to join a biker group, but they aren't certain which one is right for them.  As a prospect, a person often doesn't get to vote on club activities, and some clubs may even have members-only activities.  However, prospects also don't usually have to pay membership dues until they become full members.

Depending on the club, becoming a full member may simply be a matter of being a part of the club for a certain amount of time and then paying your membership dues.  Other clubs might have other requirements, like participating in a certain number of club events.  Whatever the requirements are, all prospects should know what they are when they join.  If you receive one of these prospect biker patches, however, one likely requirement is that you wear it to club events.
