And now for something completely different, we offer you a biker patch that could be unlike anything else you have ever seen. We call it the Sugar Skull with Beard large back patch. If you know what this patch depicts, you are in the minority. Not a lot of people have seen a genuine Sugar Skull, let alone know what it actually is.



Before we get to that part, this 8.3 x 12-inch back patch is easily one of the most colorful patches in our collection. It has got a little bit for everyone. What makes it truly unusual is the beard – that's not something you see every day on skulls. But it works here.



So, what is a sugar skull? It is known as a 'calavera' in Spanish. It is a small, decorative skull usually made of either sugar or clay and used as part of Mexico's Day of the Dead celebration. The same Spanish word can be applied to a variety of artistic skull creations.



Some of the more ornate sugar skulls and not only painted, but also decorated with feathers, colored foil, and beads. Those intended for consumption can be decorated with anything from nuts to chocolates and small pieces of fruit.

If you are into all things creepy and you love motorcycles, we are guessing this would be an excellent choice as your back patch. Sew it on with a needle and thread and then stand back and wait for the reactions.

Attention all you bikers who love creepy images capable of peeling paint. We have a couple of super creepy patches that you're going to love, including the Jester Clown Skull large patch. This one comes in at 8.7 x 12 inches. It's as tall as any of our other back patches but not quite as wide.



As far as creepiness is concerned, this one has it all. It has the skull with a bright red tongue hanging out of its mouth. The skull's bony face is adorned with clown paint. He is also wearing a black and white striped something or other across his shoulders. And for the pièce de resistance we have a purple and gold jester's hat.



Here's betting some of your macho biker friends aren't all that fond of clowns. Some people just don't like them. Ditto for jesters. Put the two together and you have a truly disturbing image capable of wreaking havoc on the brain. If that's your thing, go for it.



We have to admit, this particular patch would look fantastic with a DILLIGAF rocker over the top. Look that up if you don't know what it means. It will make perfect sense once you figure it out.

It's going to look fantastic on either leather or denim. Black leather would be our first choice, but that's just us. Whatever you do, we recommend against trying to iron the patch to a leather jacket. Heat could damage the leather. Break out that needle and thread. You'll be better off that way.

Rest assured this 12 x 12-inch back patch is more than capable of living up to your rough-and-tumble lifestyle. Its rigid plastic backing provides the perfect foundation for intricate embroidery in white, red, and multiple shades of gray. There is even some black thrown in for definition.



The Red Bandana Skull patch is one of the larger back patches in our inventory. It should fit nicely between the shoulders of your leather vest or denim jacket. Be sure to sew it in place, as ironing is not all that good for leather. Besides which, needle and thread will keep the patch more secure.

The thought of staring down the barrel of a shotgun isn't a pleasant one. A double-barreled shotgun would make the experience twice as uncomfortable. Perhaps the designer of the Shotgun Cowboy Skull embroidered iron-on patch had that in mind when they designed the image. If nothing else, the image is intimidating.



Here, the barrel of the shotgun takes center stage. We are impressed by how well the image design and embroidery work together to create a near realistic illusion. Stare at the patch long enough and you might fool your brain into thinking you're looking at a real shotgun. It is kind of eerie that way.



At any rate, the owner of the shotgun appears to be an unhappy skeleton who has a bone to pick with you. How do you escape his wrath? Sew the patch to the back of your leather jacket or denim vest. That way, the shotgun is pointing at someone else.



In all seriousness, this 11 x 11-inch patch combines the well-known biker skeleton with a Western theme for a somewhat different look. This may not be an ideal back patch for city slickers, but it is perfect for those bikers who prefer small-town America and rural areas. If that sounds like you, we would be willing to bet you appreciate the cowboy hat with its blue band and silver stars, along with the red bandanna around the skeleton's neck.



This patch would look darn good accompanied by two smaller patches, one on each side. Perhaps an American flag and a cross? That is entirely up to you. Whatever you decide to do, we recommend you don't attempt to affix this patch with an iron. Instead, break out the needle and thread. A year or two from now, you'll be glad you did.

If you've spent time looking through our patch inventory, you may have guessed that we have a thing for skulls and Native American symbols. It's not just us. Both are used extensively within the biker culture. Both are combined here, in the Indian Headdress Skull embroidered iron-on patch.



The first thing most people notice about this patch is the size of the headdress. It easily dominates the entire image. The Biker Skull embroidered iron-on patch pretty much speaks for itself. The skull is the classic biker insignia, having been used by biker clubs for decades. This particular skull is wearing a World War II era military helmet along with a pair of goggles. We don't know if it's intentional by the artist, but the image appears to be a nod to the wartime origins of the American biker.

Though the plastic backing on this patch makes it possible to iron it to denim, we would not recommend using an iron. The patch is far too heavy to trust it to stay in place forever. Your best bet for attaching it is a heavy black thread and a needle. Sew it in place and you will never have to worry about the skull taking off and riding with somebody else. You wouldn't want that to happen, would you?

Every now and again we find a patch that is too difficult to describe with words. You just have to see it. Enter the Wicked Skull Snakes Feathers large back patch.
