5 Things You Should Never Say To a Biker

biker-1 Bikers live a very 'unique' lifestyle that's different from your traditional modern-day routine. Whether it's a long chopper or a speedy crotch rocket, bikers have the ultimate level of freedom on the roads. Because of their unconventional lifestyle, there are certain things you should never say to a biker. Keep reading to learn our list of the top 5 things you should never say to a biker.

#1) Are Those Boy Scout Patches?

No, the patches on a biker's jacket or vest are not Boy Scout patches. Not that I have anything against Boy Scouts, it's just that us bikers spend a great deal of time and every choosing the right patches. And if people took a few minutes to really at them, they would notice that they aren't Boy Scout Patches.

#2) Your Bike Is Too Small

Any women who tells you size doesn't matter is lying. Well, this same principle holds true for bikes. Telling someone their bike is too small is a downright insult (even if it's true). Bikers naturally bond to their bikes over time, so telling them it's too small is a degrading insult that's bound to cause some commotion.

#3) Your Bike Is Ugly

I guess this insult kind of goes hand-in-hand with the previous one, but in case you should never tell a biker his (or her) bike is ugly. Bikers have a sense of pride riding down the roads showing off our bikes, and telling someone their bike is ugly is like a slap in the face. So unless you want to start a fight, stick with positive compliments when referring to a biker's bike.

#4) Can You Make It Less Noisy?

I'm sure a million bikers have experienced their wife or significant other asking them to make their bike less noisy. While this may be possible with some adjustments to the engine and muffler, bikers are meant to be loud and noisy. If you've got a problem with the sound decibels coming from a bike, put some headphones on and keep your mouth shut. Bikes, like all petrol-powered automobiles, are going to make noise; it's just that simple.

#5) Don't You Know Bikes Are Dangerous?

Yes, we know that accidents and injuries happen on bikes, but they also happen when you're driving in a car, flying in airplanes or even walking down the street. Bikers are responsible adults (some of us at least) who can take care of themselves.
