A Patch for Bikers from Massachusetts

Are you from Massachusetts, one of the New England states?  If you are, you may want to add a Massachusetts Patch to your jacket or vest.  This State Rocker patch proudly proclaims that you're from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as it is officially called.  Bordered by five different states, Massachusetts is the 7th least extensive of all the United States.  However, even though it's small, it is the 14th most populous state, with two thirds of the population living in the Greater Boston area.

Massachusetts is home to Plymouth, the colony formed by the Pilgrims in 1620.  The state is also called the Cradle of Liberty because it was where the American Revolution was born.  The Boston Tea Party of 1773, one of the most well-known events leading up the American Revolution, occurred in the state, as did a number of battles.  In 1788, Massachusetts became the sixth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.  Sightseers in Boston may wish to visit many of the historical sites in and around the city, including Paul Revere's home, Walden Pond, and the USS Constitution.

Massachusetts is known for being home to a number of prestigious universities.  Harvard University is the oldest university in the U.S.  Another well-known learning institution is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, most commonly known as MIT.  Boston College, Wellesley Collect, and Amherst College are among the other highly prestigious educational institutes in the area.

Massachusetts has been home to many famous celebrities, writers, and artists.  The Kennedy Family, including President John F. Kennedy, calls the state their home.  Writers Emily Dickinson, E.E. Cummings, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) were born or lived most of their lives in Massachusetts, as did artists Norman Rockwell and Winslow Homer.
