Whether you like the twisties or the scenery, you can really have the best of both worlds. If you have a week or two the locations listed below are great places to explore a little closer.

The oldest highway on the east coast is Coastal Highway 1 and it makes for a beautiful ride. When traveling from Kittery to Bucksport you will enjoy one hundred and seventy miles of lighthouses, quaint towns, lobster shacks. There are over sixty lighthouses and almost fifty peninsulas to explore. Take some extra time to visit the beaches while you are there. Some of the lighthouses in the area date back to the 1700's.

If you want a laid back trip take Highway 1 in Florida one hundred miles from Key Largo to Key West. You will be riding between the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico across a narrow stretch of road made of bridges over a living reef. You will find a biker friendly atmosphere and island time is slow and easy. Key West is known for margaritas, seafood and being a tropical paradise.

The water in the keys is some of the bluest water you will ever see making it excellent conditions for snorkeling or scuba diving. If sea fishing is something you would like to do there are plenty of boats to charter or day trips in groups. In the keys everything is a celebration.

It is always best to wear motorcycle riding glasses, protective outerwear  and leather gloves. Be sure to check your bike out real good and grab a tool it for the road.
