Detroit Bike Week

The Detroit Bike Week is coming up!  It will be held July 26th through the 29th 2012 in Detroit, Michigan.  The Michigan Bike Bash, as it is also sometimes called, is a huge event that will be three years old this year.  While it's a fairly new event and doesn't have the history of, say, Sturgis, the Detroit Bike Week is still a huge celebration of bikers and motorcycle riding.  The rally is held at the Multi-Lake Conservation Association area, which is near a number of camp grounds.  Other lodging is available in Detroit, of course.

There are two different entertainment stages set up this year, the D 106.7 Stage and the Real Detroit Weekly Stage.  This is where you'll get to listen to musicians like Ty Stone, Cowboy (a Kid Rock Tribute band), the Dirty Americans, 16-year-old singer Paulina Jayne, and many more.  The rally organizers have put together an amazing list of local and national stars for this year's event.  Other events at the rally include cage fights, stunt rider performances, freestyle jumps, and an international bikini contest.  Freestyle motocross riders will be well-represented by stunt driver Josh Borne.  If you're wondering how the new Kawasaki bikes handle, you can take a demo ride at the rally.

There will be several world record attempts in Detroit this year, as well as a number of rides, poker runs, and the chance to win a brand new bike.  Many vendors will also be on hand to help you find the perfect parts and other biker accessories you need, such as gear and patches for your jacket.  This rally has it all, and it's coming up in just a few short weeks.
