If you'll be in the state of Indiana on July 19 through July 22, 2012, you'll want to stop by the Indiana Boogie Bike Rally. This event has been called a number of different things in the past, including the Bean Blossom Boogie and the ABATE of Indiana's Boogie, but now it's just the Boogie. It's four days of live entertainment, contests, races, bike shows, and fun. This year is the 32nd annual Boogie, and it will be held at the Lawrence County Recreational Park in Springville, Indiana.
ABATE is the American Bikers Aimed Towards Education, and they're the host of the boogie. This rally is their annual fundraiser, and they put the proceeds towards their goal of preserving and promoting motorcycling in Indiana. The rally does cost $40 to enter, but that's four all four days. Everyone who attends must be 18 or older, no children are allowed at this rally.
So what's going on at the Boogie? Live entertainment includes Hells Bells and Buckcherry, and on Friday, the rally will be invaded by mummies! You'll also have the chance to participate in a motorcycle rodeo, a bike show, arm wrestling contest, a tattoo contest, and a scenic ride. You can set up camp or park your RV at the park and continue the fun into the night.
Need a new bike? ABATE is giving away a 2012 Harley-Davidson Road King! You can purchase tickets from any ABATE officer or at the Boogie. The drawing will be on Saturday. They're only printing 10,000 tickets, so you can calculate your odds.
The Boogie is a great biker rally that has many bikers headed to Indiana for the weekend. What's more, it's for a great cause.
