In the Eagle Patches section I discovered a real gem today - the Live To Ride Eagle patch (large). Although they carry a smaller version of this patch, this one is the large version at 9 inches. It's big enough that you would most likely use it as a back patch on your leather jacket or vest. What I like about it is it's classic, elegant look, despite the slightly scowling face on the eagle. It reminds me of something that would have been worn in the 1950s or 60s.
To each his own, but I'm really not a big fan of flaming skulls, foul language, skeletons, and the like. I'm much more intrigued by a patch like this one; a patch that conveys a message in a subdued but thought-provoking manner. Rather than being in your face, this one is more subtle. But make no mistake - it is in no way ambiguous. There is no mistaking the message the wearer of this patch is trying to convey.
Because this patch is so big it's too heavy to apply with the iron-on backing. You couldn't do that with leather anyway, but in case you were thinking of ironing it to denim, don't. It won't stay attached without needle and thread. If you don't know how to sew, you might have to call your mother or your ex. If either of those are problem you can always get the smaller version!
