In honor of this weekend's Independence Day celebrations, and the day itself, I chose the Love USA Heart Patch for today's post. It's a 3" heart decorated like an American flag, and it's designed for those who want to show their love and appreciation for the U.S.
In today's anti-American environment, even among our own countrymen, I believe love for America needs to be proudly displayed by those of us who possess it. I mean, where else in the world can you go and experience the level of freedom we have here? Even though the government is taking away those freedoms bit by bit, we are still a country where anyone can be whatever he wants to be.
Even if you disagree with what America is and stands for, maybe you'd might at least be appreciative that it is our liberty and freedom which allow you to speak your mind. Without it, your ideas could land you in prison, if not worse. Just ask people from the Sudan, Iraq, China, and so on.
So enjoy the Independence Day holiday. If you have one of these patches, wear it proudly. If not, get one or two today and find a creative way to display it. You can attach it to your clothing with the iron-on backing, or with traditional needle and thread. Red, white, & blue, by the way, go with anything.
