Being in any military branch creates a strong bond between people. For those in the U.S. Navy, that brotherhood may be especially strong since you may spend a lot of time with your fellow servicemen and women out at sea. If you've been in the Navy, the Brothers Forever Navy Patch makes a nice addition to your jacket or vest. It features a reproduction of the official Navy seal and is pretty detailed for its size. You'll find this patch in the Brotherhood Patches section.
The U.S. Navy is one of the seven branches of the military. It's also the largest naval force in the world and has the largest carrier fleet with 11 in service. It operates almost 300 ships and has more the 3,700 aircraft in service.
The current U.S. Navy began as the Continental Navy, the naval force established by the 13 Colonies during the American Revolutionary War. Following the war, the navy was disbanded. However, the Constitution created the U.S. Navy shortly thereafter. Today, the navy has bases around the world and maintains several fleets made up of aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, and submarines.
The seal of the Navy features an eagle clutching an anchor in its claws. Sometimes, the eagle and anchor are depicted standing on the ground with a ship and ocean behind them, but this patch uses the simpler design. It measures three inches across and surrounded the logo with the words "Brothers Forever". This patch has die cut borders that make it easy to sew it onto leather, but it also has iron-on adhesive if you want to put it on other material.
