You really need to check out the New Patches section at The Cheap Place. They've got some really cool stuff there including the subject of today's blog, the Rebel Wings patch. This is a large back patch in the shape of the traditional biker wings, yet with an interesting twist. The wings are decorated to resemble the flag of the Southern Confederacy. With its bright red, blue, and white color scheme, this patch would be extremely hard to miss plastered on the back of your jacket.
You know, I've noticed that there are an awful lot of biker patches which somehow utilize the Confederate flag. Perhaps that's because the spirit of the Confederacy was one of rebellion, and that same rebellious spirit is shared by a good number of America's bikers. The idea of being on the open road with no one there to look over your shoulder, is one of the major appeals of the biker lifestyle. I suppose it would only be natural for the modern biker to sympathize with the Southern cause.
Regardless of your politics, this patch is extremely attractive if nothing else. If you're not a member of an organized club this would be a good one to sew to the back of your vest as a substitute for a club patch. Even better, if you're from a southern state you could get the appropriate state rocker patch to place underneath the wings. Together they would look incredibly awesome!
