With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner I thought I'd go Green on today's blog entry. Over in the Flag Patches section at The Cheap Place, you'll find the Irish Shamrock patch; go take a look right now if you haven't seen it. The Irish Shamrock patch measures 4"x3" and features a clover in green, white, and gold, along with the phrase "Irish". It's a very classy patch that says who you are without being ostentatious. I like it.
The only thing is, it sort of reminds me of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish logo. Not that I have anything against the school, it's just that I'm not a Notre Dame fan. For me it's all about the Nebraska Cornhuskers - but that's a different blog post for another day. As for this Irish patch, it would make a great addition to your Irish collection, or sewn on your favorite green jacket.
If you have a special t-shirt or a full set of holiday clothing you only wear to your annual St. Patrick's Day parties, then you probably need a half-dozen of these patches so you can stick them on all over. Use a hot iron to activate the glued backing, or get out your needle and thread. Either way, here's wishing you the luck o' the Irish Shamrock patch. And when you leave the party on Thursday night, may the road rise up to meet instead of the other way around.
