This Patch States Death Before Dishonor

Death before dishonor patchMost of the Saying Patches on The Cheap Place feature white text embroidered on a black background, but there are some that look a little different.  Take, for example, the Death Before Dishonor Patch.  Instead of being a rectangular patch, it's more of a square, and the outline of the patch follows the letters.  They take up the entire patch, unlike the other sayings patches.  The patch measures three inches by three inches, and it looks very nice on a jacket, vest, or even a pair of pants.

The meaning of this patch is pretty clear, and it's one that many military members have adopted: death before dishonor quite simply means you'd rather die than do something that goes against your personal code of honor.  For soldiers, that means disobeying orders, failing a mission, or failing to protect those they have sworn to protect.  However, other people can follow this code, too.  The saying doesn't always mean a person puts themselves in harm's way, either.  In fact, the death part of the saying is really just there to stress that the person is very dedicated to his or her honor and moral code.

The words 'death' and 'dishonor' are done in red, while 'before' is done in white.  The contrast makes all three words easy to read and makes the patch more noticeable.  This embroidered patch can be ironed on to your clothing using the plastic iron-on backing.  You can also sew it on.  The patch does have black die cut borders that make sewing it easier.  If you're putting it on leather, be sure to sew it on so you don't damage the material.
