Check Out this Cool Pirate Patch

White Pirate sword skull patchDo you love pirates?  Who doesn't!  Well, shipping companies from the late 1600s weren't very fond of them, but today, the image of the pirate from this 'Golden Age of Piracy' is considered cool.  You'll see pirate images and merchandise all over.  The skull and crossbones is the most popular pirate image, and it can be found on t-shirts, pens, caps, and, of course, biker patches.  This White Pirate Sword Skull Patch is just one of a number of Small Cool Patches featuring pirates.

Pirates have been around for centuries, and there are even pirates active now, but it was during this Golden Age that we get our idea of the pirate.  These were the pirates who wore the black hats, flew the Jolly Roger, and attacked ships with fearless abandon.  These pirates were mainly active in Europe, attacking vessels in the Mediterranean and supple vessels that travelled between Europe and the Caribbean.   We do know for a fact that they boarded ships and fought with sabers and guns, but we don't really know if they kept talking parrots or if all of them had peg legs, eye patches, or both.

Some of the most popular pirates to sail the seas during this time were Blackbeard, Billy the Kidd, and Black Bart.  If you want to channel some of their pirate skills, maybe you need this patch, which features a skull and two crossed sabers.  It measures three inches wide by two and a quarter inches tall.  If you want to easily attach this patch to your clothing, you can iron it on.  However, if you're putting it on leather, you'll need to sew it on so you don't damage the material.
