A New Look for My Golf Bag

I'm always looking for new and creative ways to display embroidered patches I come across in my travels. A case in point is the new golf bag I just purchased. Actually, I purchased a whole new set of clubs and the bag came with them. While I was at a local course of couple of weeks ago trying out the new set, I saw a couple of patches from the country club in the pro shop. I bought one of each and attached them to my bag using a bit of super glue.

Then I got to thinking that there are plenty of great stock patches having to do with golf that would make great additions. So I placed my order for those just a couple of days ago. My plan is to attach them in different places around the bag and then collect the club patches from all the golf courses I visit over the next couple of seasons. I figure by the time I'm ready to replace this set my bag will be fully decorated. At that point it will become a display piece in my home.

Projects like this are the types of things that make patch collecting such a great hobby. It can be integrated with so many other things, limited only by your creativity and your willingness to pursue what might appear to others as strange ideas.

I guarantee you that my golf buddies maybe laughing at my bag today, but they'll wish they had one just like it in a few years. Much the same way my musician friends used to laugh at my guitar case until they realized all the stickers I had attached to it represented hundreds of different venues I've played. Then they wanted one too.
