Those can be kind of ugly, so you can always cover them with patches. Since these bags are usually made from canvas, you can easily iron on these patches. They add a nice amount of color and will turn what are otherwise dull looking bags into awesome stand-out items. All it takes are a few cheap biker patches.
Finally, you can always put patches on your luggage. Adding some decoration to your suitcases doesn't just make them look better, but it also makes it much easier to find them at the airport or other location where your baggage may get mixed in with that of those.
