Adding Patches to your Belt

Most bikers add patches to their jackets and vests.  Some use patches to make old pants look new or to cover up rips and tears.  Some bikers also add patches to their baseball caps and other hats, adding their own personal little touch to these items.  But few people know you can add patches to canvas belts.  Any type of belt made from cloth can be decorated with patches, even leather belts.  However, there are a couple of things you need to take into consideration before you add patches to your belt.

First, will the patches fit?  Most belts are pretty thin and won't actually accommodate a patch.  You will want a fairly large belt if you're going to add patches to it.  While plenty of those can be found at different stores, you might not have one on hand.  You might have to make a special purchase for your biker belt.

Another issue is how thick the belt will be once you put your patches on it.  Check your pants and make certain that the belt with patch will fit through your belt loops.  If it won't, you may need to look for a different belt, different patches, or even a different pair of pants!

Belts can look really cool when decorated with patches, but you do have to put a little bit of planning into it.  If you check and make sure everything will fit like you want, you'll have an awesome biker belt that will be the envy of all your friends.
