Lately I've been trying to think of all the different ways I can utilize smaller biker patches without sewing them all on my vest. I figured I could attach a couple to my denim jacket, some to my fishing hat, and a dozen or so to my various polo shirts. As I was going through this in my mind I started to drift away from traditional clothing items into more obscure options no one had thought of yet. And where did my thoughts lead me? To the back panel of my leather wallet!
When the idea hit me I pulled my wallet out of my pocket and just stared for a few seconds. There it was; the perfect place for a small biker patch that could say something funny about my backside. I started browsing through all the stock patches at The Cheap Place in order to find something appropriate. Much to my surprise I found more than ten that would work well.
Of course, I'm going to have to get out the old needle and thread in order to mount it. If you try to iron them on to leather you quickly find out the glue does not stick. Not only that, when you finally give up in frustration you'll be left with a glue stain or a burn mark. But I don't mind sewing, it's something I learned to when I was attaching embroidered patches to my Boy Scout uniform as a kid.
Once I decide what patch to use perhaps I'll let you know in a future blog. Until then, there are plenty of other things you can do with embroidered patches. Just open your mind and turn on your imagination. You'll be surprised at some of the ideas you come up with.
