When a bunch of bikers gathers together for one of the annual rallies, one of the first things you come to realize is that different states have different regulations regarding riding motorcycles. For example, my home state of New York requires all bikers to wear helmets approved to meet certain safety standards. In Florida you can ride without a helmet but you must be 21 and have at least $10,000 worth of medical coverage on your insurance policy. In Pennsylvania you can also escape wearing a helmet if you're 21 and:
- you've been operating a motorcycle for two years or longer OR
- you've completed a state-approved motorcycle operator safety course
