Some people ride their motorcycle every chance they get. They drive it to work, use it to run errands in the evening, and generally spend every second on their bike that they can. However, there are some other bikers who consider themselves weekend riders. Their motorcycle spends most of the week in the garage and only gets out on the weekend. These type of bikers are no less of motorcycle enthusiasts than those who ride every day. Of course, bikers who ride all the time often look down on these people and call them hobbyists, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with only riding on the weekends when you have the time.
Weekend riders usually have a job that prevents them from biking to work. Sometimes they have to carry a lot of stuff to and from the office, and sometimes they have to wear suits or other very nice clothing that can get dirty when riding a motorcycle. Others live in a location where riding a motorcycle daily isn't very practical, such as in areas where it's cold or very rainy. Even on the weekends, sometimes riding isn't exactly an option due to the weather. However, they love to ride and will often brave the rain and the wind on those days when they can get out and hit the streets.
Being a weekend rider also doesn't mean you don't need to purchase as much riding gear or that you can't add tons of motorcycle patches to your gear. You can feel free to go crazy and really make your riding outfit look amazing, and since it won't get quite as much wear and tear, it will stay in great shape for a lot longer.
