Budgeting for a Biker Rally

If you're getting ready to head out to a biker rally, you'll probably be looking at your bank account and credit card balances to make certain that you can afford the trip and still manage to pay all of your bills later.  Some biker rallies can be quite expensive, especially those that require long hours or even a few days of travel.  It's important to plan your budget out before you start off to the rally so you know how much you have to spend on things like biker gear, motorcycle patches, and other fun items.

The first thing you'll need to budget for may be the most expensive: lodging.  If you're staying in a hotel, it will definitely be the most costly item on your budget.  If you're staying at a campground, it may be considerably cheaper, but you will need to figure out some way of transporting your tent and other camping accessories there on your bike, which might be difficult.  If you're looking for ways of saving money on lodging, you can see if you can split a hotel room with friends or fellow bikers.  Also be sure to see if the rally has arranged a special rate at some local hotels.

Food is another thing you'll need to budget for.  Many people end up eating at restaurants for every meal when traveling, and that can get expensive.  Instead, stop by a grocery store and pick up some sandwich foods and other simple to make meals.  Don't forget to pack a few snacks for the road, too.

You also need to budget for gas.  Driving long distances, especially with today's prices, can get very expensive.  Make sure you take that into consideration, too, before you start your trip.
