Some people buy just enough patches to cover their jacket and other riding gear. Others buy some extras for use in craft projects and decorations. But then there are some bikers who decide they want to collect patches. For whatever reason, they want to buy many different unique patches. They will wear some of them, but others, they will frame and hang as decorations or simply keep them and show them off to their biker friends.
But how do you start building your patch collection? Well, the obvious answer is to go out and start buying as many motorcycle patches as you can, but while that will get you many patches, it also creates a fairly random collection. Before you start buying, you should instead think about what you want your collection to center on. You could collect military patches, for example, or patches with funny sayings on them. That makes it easier to decide which patches to buy. Otherwise, you'll find that there are so many patches out there that deciding on which ones to get can be almost impossible.
If you want to collect rare patches, you'll have a harder time finding new additions to your collection. These patches are often only available at certain events, and very limited quantities were produced. Some of these patches may be pretty old, and finding ones that are still in good condition or unused can be difficult. Patches from other countries can also be hard to come by.
No matter what type of patch collection you want to put together, you'll find several places to search for new additions. You might find patches you want at a rally, or you may search online. You can also talk to other bikers who collect patches and find some willing to sell or trade.
