Buying gifts for other riders can be difficult. If you're buying for a friend who isn't that close of a friend, you might not want to spend that much money, either. You might think to get them a bike related t-shirt or hat, but many bikers have dozens of shirts, and some don't like wearing caps. One solution is to buy them a few biker patches. There are several good reasons why patches make great gifts, and the first of which is that they are fairly inexpensive. You can buy a couple for an acquaintance, or get a large back patch and several others to go with it for a close friend.
Another great reason for giving patches as gifts is that you can introduce someone to a new hobby, patch collecting! If they have never put a patch on their jacket before, you might get them addicted to it. Even if they already have a few patches, you can check out their riding gear and buy them a few more patches that go with their general theme. Or you can start purchasing them a patch every year for their birthday, Christmas, etc. Make it a tradition to exchange patches with your biker buddies!
You can also give patches as gifts to those who don't ride bikes. Many people love adding patches to their everyday clothing or using them to repair damaged clothing. Kids especially love making clothes their own. People are now adding patches to their cloth shopping bags so that they don't look just like everyone else's. Patches can be used on anything made out of cloth or leather, so they're a gift that people can put on many items.
