Attending a biker rally is a big deal. There are many things you have to pack, but if you're riding your bike to the rally, you won't have a lot of space for packing. Plus, you've got to consider that you'll probably buy stuff at the rally like new biker patches, shirts, and maybe even some parts for your bike. This stuff has to go somewhere. While you can mail it, that costs a lot. Also, you've got to remember to make sure your bike is in good condition and that you've got all of your necessary expenses covered. Here's a quick list for everything you'll need to take care of before heading to the rally.
- Did you pre-purchase tickets? Some rallies like bikers to pre-register so they have an idea of how many people are coming, while others charge an admission fee at the gate.
- Do you have lodging secured? Some rallies have campgrounds and RV parks for bikers to use. These options are usually cheaper than staying in a hotel, but they do require you to pack a tent, which takes up more space. If you're driving a long way to the rally, you may need to spend the night at the halfway point.
- Have you had your bike looked over? Before going on a long ride, it's best to have a professional mechanic give your bike the once-over just to make sure nothing needs attending to before you leave.
- Did you pack your rain gear and your reflective gear for riding in bad weather or at night? If you don't have reflective patches on your riding jacket, you'll want to have some kind of reflective vest or jacket if you're riding in the dark.
If you've got all of these bases covered, you should be ready to enjoy the rally!
