Collecting Patches

When it comes to collecting patches for your biker jacket or vest, you've got a couple of different options.  Before you start attaching them, however, you need to have a general idea of what overall theme you want for your jacket and how much space you have to work with.

You'll find patches for sale in a number of different places.  The Cheap Place has many different options for you.  These patches fit a number of different themes, and it's a great way of seeing what kinds of patches are available before you buy.  Once you've got an idea of what's out there, you can decide what you want to put on your jacket.  Since the site lists all the measurements for each patch, you can cut paper placeholders and lay them out to see how your jacket will look before you finalize your decisions.

Another option is to use your jacket as a record of where you've been.  You can purchase patches from each biker rally you attend or add a patch for every major ride you go on.  If you and your biker buddies want to do this together, you can even purchase wholesale biker patches so you all get one.

Of course, you don't have to use all of the patches you purchase.  Some people instead simply collect them.  Instead of putting all these patches on their jackets or vests, they might attach them to a long piece of cloth or frame them.  It's possible to pin patches to felt or other cloth instead of ironing or sewing them on.  You can then put the felt and pinned patches in a frame for easy display.  Since they're not attached, you can later rearrange the patches or put them on your clothing.  Of course, you can always purchase wholesale biker patches so you have one in your collection, one on your jacket, and a few spares to give away as gifts.
