Coordinating Your Patches

Have you bought many different patches just because you thought they looked amazing only to put them on your jacket and realize they don't look that great together?  While you can put them on anyway and have a jacket with a mishmash, random theme, some bikers like their patches to coordinate.  If you want your jacket to have an overall theme or at least feature patches that don't clash, you do have to put a little bit of thought into it.  Here are a few tips for coordinating your biker patches.

Think about buying patches that have the same theme or style.  Native American patches, for example, usually coordinate very well together because they're done in the same style and use a lot of the same colors.  You could also do patriotic patches since many use eagles and the colors of red, white, and blue.

Another way of coordinating your patches is to look for ones with the same color.  These patches can be very different in style and theme, for example, an American flag, a firefighter patch, and a lady rider patch might actually look really well together if they all have a lot of red in them.  You can also go with black and white patches.

Another method of coordination is to use the same shape or same size patches.  A jacket with small round patches on the back, evenly spaced and arranged, looks really nice, and the colors don't matter quite as much.

There's no hard and fast rule for coordinating your patches, and sometimes, breaking the theme or color scheme can actually work really well.  For example, adding a brightly colored patch to a jacket full of black and white patches will make it stand out and emphasis it.
