Creating a Color Theme for your Patches

Many embroidered patches are very colorful, and you can use that as a way of creating your jacket's theme.  While you can always do a theme based on what the patches look like or feature, such as a patriotic theme or a Native American theme, sometimes these patches do clash pretty badly.  If you want to give your jacket or vest an eye-catching, coordinated look, think about what colors your patches are.  Doing something like a jacket full of blue patches can give you a really cool look.

Naturally, you won't find very many sew on patches that are only one solid color.  This means you'll want to look for patches that are dominated by one strong color.  You just have to make sure that the secondary colors don't clash too much.  You can always space out patches with colors that don't really work well together.

Another idea is to use patches that use mainly the same colors.  Most patriotic patches, for example, make use of red, white, and blue.  They'll look really nice together.  You can put a large eagle patch in the middle and the brown and white of the eagle will really stand out among the red, white, and blue patches.

There are a lot of patches out there, and you can probably find a few of them that both match the colors you want to use and are cool.  If you don't want to use just one color, you can always put in a few sayings patches as spacers.  These patches are black and white, so they won't break your color scheme.  If you have some small patches you love but that don't match your others, you can put them on a vest or on the front of your jacket.
