Cruisin' and Camping

With the weekend just hours away , it's not too late to plan a quick get away. Traveling on your bike calls for lightweight packing.

While many like to sleep in a hammock while camping in the summer, some prefer more protection from the elements. That would call for a tent. Your first rule of thumb is that your tent should be long and wide enough where two adults can stretch out and their clothes. Of course, limited packing space on your bike as well as economical situations will come into play while buying your tent. For minimal packing space you may want to check out the Mountain Hardware Light/Wedge 3  or the Eureka Autumn Wind 2XD to name a few. If you have more packing space you may want to check out the old Kelly Gunnison 4  or the Eureka Timberline 4.

Multifunction tools are a must. You will need a small pair of pliers, hammer and some duct tape which we all know can fix dang near everything. You will also need to pack a few cooking utensils as well as essentials for clean up. Anything will cook in or on aluminum foil which will save you from packing pots and pans. After all we are talking about lightweight packing!

You will need some padding to sleep on such as a sleeping bag or a blow up mattress which will also be determined by the space you have on your bike.

When packing clothes you can always pack them in a pillowcase and viola you have a multi-purpose pillow.

Have a great weekend! Enjoy the ride!
