Current Models of Harley Davidson Motorcycles

Harley Davidson is one of those companies that always continues to grow, change, and expand.  As they introduce different models of motorcycles, they try to make sure that the bikes remain true to the Harley Davidson form in both design and function.  Currently, the Sportster, Dyna, Softail, Touring, and VRSC models are in the lineup.  Each of these machines utilizes different features, but they all have some of the basic continuity features that tie them into the Harley Davidson brand.  This is one of the claims and mainstays of the company, and embracing these characteristics is why they have continued to do so well in recent years. Bikers can find motorcycle patches displaying their favorite model.

The type of model that you will want to ride depends on you.  If you like to travel fast on motorcycles and are interested in racing, then you will most likely find that the Sportster is the best choice for you.  However, if you like to cruise around with a little more comfort, then the Dyna might be the better model for you because the Wide Glide and the Low Rider features were developed with that in mind.

The Softail models are known to use the big-twin engine and a specially developed Softail Chasis.  Each different bike that falls within this category has been classified with an abbreviation like FXSTB, which stands for the Night Train that relies on the Sportster small diameter telescopic forks.  However, Fat Boy has the classification FLSTF because they utilize the larger telescopic forks that are more commonly found on Touring bikes.  So, if you know and understand the Harley Davidson letter classification system, you can know exactly what parts your motorcycle utilizes.  After all, it's in the name.
