It happens to pretty much every biker, no matter how cautious you are. Eventually, you're going to have a crash. Crashes happen all the time because while you can control your driving, you can't control others. They may make an abrupt lane change, run a red light, or do something else to cause a traffic accident. However, just because you've had a wreck doesn't mean you should give up riding altogether. Far from it! You should get back up, dust yourself off, and get right back on your motorcycle, assuming both you and your bike are in good condition.
One of the first things you'll want to do after making sure you're not injured in any way. Then you'll want to take stock of your bike and your gear. You might need to have some paint touched up on your motorcycle. Your gear may have some rips and tears in it, so be ready to either buy some sew on patches to cover the tears or replay any of these biker patches that got damaged.
Getting back on your bike after you've dealt with the damage to you and your ride can be a daunting task. You might be a little gun shy to start with. A bit of fear is normal, especially if you were injured in the crash. But usually this fear only exists until you get on the bike and have that first ride after the crash. Then it fades away, and you'll be back to riding.
If you do have a crash, you might want to mark the occasion with one of the embroidered patches related to crashes. Some have broken wings or feature sayings about crashing. It's a good way to remember what it's like to crash.
