Decorating with Patches

If you've decorated your riding jacket or vest with patches, you might not have any extras left over to put on anything else.  Some bikers, though buy too many patches for their gear, and then they have these left over ones that look really neat.  What do you do with them?  You could put them away until you buy a new jacket, but that seems kind of a waste.  How about decorating with patches?  It's a different way of adding some color to your home.

You may have read about how you can frame your patches and display them like artwork.  That's certainly one option, and it does keep your patches clean and unused so you can add them to a new jacket down the line.  However, it's just one option.  Another is to actually iron or sew your patches on to other items.  For example, if you have some plain throw pillows on your sofa, you could add some biker patches to them to make them a little more colorful.

If you or your wife makes quilts, you could design one specifically with a biker theme and add patches to it.  This can be a really cool way of customizing your bedding.  Plus, if your biker club does auctions to raise money for a charity, one of these quilts could bring a lot of money.

You can attach your patches to just about anything made of cloth.  How about a patch-decorated table cloth with matching placemats?  Or patches decorating your curtains?  Maybe put a few patches on that Snuggie you bought to keep you warm in the winter?  The possibilities are pretty much endless.
