Finding the Right Motorcycle Seat for You

The position of the seat on your motorcycle can make all of the difference in how comfortable your ride is and can even impact the safely of your vehicle.  For a lot of people this isn't too much of an inconvenience since the standard seat is designed to fit a relatively large range of riders.  However, for others, the position of the seat can make all of the difference when riding.  If you are considering replacing the seat on your bike with something that is better suited to your needs, then you may be wondering how you can find the right one.

While it's true that there is no specific store that caters just to replacing your motorcycle's seat, it is possible to go to a motorcycle shop and look at the different options.  In many shops they will allow you to sit on the show models so that you can see how a different seat or position of a seat might affect your riding posture.  For example, if you have shorter legs, you will probably want to look for a lower profile seat, or at least one that has a narrower front section so that your legs can hang down closer to the pedals.

If, on the other hand, you are someone with very long legs, then you will want to see about getting a seat that will allow you to sit back farther so your legs can stretch out and will not be as cramped around the pedals.  This will offer you greater ease of operation and will be more comfortable in the long run.
