Freedom Isn't Free Patch

Freedom Isn't Free Patch -EmbroideredWe are living in an ever changing world. There are a few things that never change. Men and women are still dying to protect our freedom. Since Americans began aiding the Afghan war the death toll has reached over two thousand as of August 2012. Our men and women aren't even safe on the base as many have been killed by Afghans that have been training alongside them or impostors dressed in our military uniforms.

Every time we see a flag or make a choice that is right for us not the entire country we need to thank our military. Being a free country is something we are accustomed to and I have to say I used to take it for granted. Not everyone has that privilege. It comes with a very high price , so we had best protect it.

We were heading over to the beach yesterday and witnessed cars blowing and waving to a soldier on the Embry Riddle grounds. He is probably training to fly  planes, work on planes or design them for our military. He never turned his head to see where the commotion was coming from he just dug his feet in and kept moving. I was and am so proud that he is going to protect my freedom and my life.

For all of the things that our military is doing abroad we need to be responsible for what we can do. We need to support our troops from home. There are many who don't have bullet proof vests or proper equipment yet our military budget has been cut and I mean cut with a vengeance.

Be sure when the election comes up that you are standing in line to vote. This is one way to help steer our country in the right direction. It is also important to know what is happening abroad and to write your local government as well as Washington to speak up for our men and women in the military.
