Do you love biking but have a spouse who does not? If she (or he, but we'll use 'she' here just because in most couples, the man loves riding and his wife doesn't) can't be convinced to spend a lot of time with you and your motorcycle, there are a few different things you can do to help show her how awesome biking can be. Here are several things you can do to help convince her that she should be a biker, too.
The first thing is to get her up on the back of your bike and take her for a ride. Tell her she can't decide she doesn't like it if she's never even ridden on a motorcycle. If she's afraid of crashing or believes motorcycles aren't safe, show her that you own and wear proper riding gear. Walk her through every step of riding a motorcycle, from the different reasons why you wear a patch-covered jacket to how to properly start and stop a motorcycle. Let her know that you are educated about riding and that you understand how to avoid collisions.
Remember to take it slow. If she's still hesitant after talking about it, have her drive to an empty parking lot. Meet her there on your bike and take her on a few slow laps around the lot. Let her get used to the idea of riding without any other traffic to worry about. Be sure to take it slow and don't do anything to alarm her. Surprises like suddenly speeding up or doing donuts aren't going to make her fall in love with riding. In fact, it will most likely be meet with demands to let her off immediately.
By being patient and showing her how much fun riding can be, you can make a biker out of your spouse or anyone else!
