Honda is one of the most well-known motorcycle manufacturers, but they do much more than motorcycles. The company also produces automobiles, power equipment, aircraft, mountain bikes, and even robots and solar energy products; and they sell these products worldwide. Honda has been the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world since 1959, and they continue to grow. The company was founded by Soichiro Honda in 1946. The company's first product were motorized bicycles. Made from surplus parts, the Honda Model A was just the beginning for the company.
While Honda started out selling motorcycles in Japan, it didn't take long for the company to think about expanding. During the 1960s, while still a fairly small company, Honda began exporting motorcycles to the United States. They did so with a marketing campaign that was fairly different from how Americans viewed bikers. Instead of presenting their bikes as vehicles for tough, strong rebel-type people, Honda instead suggested that they made motorcycles for everyone. The ads were a huge success, and the new revenue allowed Honda to expand. Honda continues to market their products to people from all walks of life in countries around the world.
In addition to their everyday vehicles, Honda also produces racing motorcycles through the Honda Racing Corporation. Formed in 1982, the HRC focuses solely on developing racing bikes. Honda motorcycles have won the Motocross World Championship six times and the World Enduro Championship eight times.
Honda continues to manufacture a large number of motorcycles every year, each one more advanced than the previous model. There's a reason they are the world's largest bike company, and those who ride Hondas know that they are high-quality machines. It's not strange to find Honda riders completely dedicated to the company. They own Honda bikes, cars, t-shirts, have Honda patches on their jackets, and support their favorite brand one-hundred-percent.
