When a new biker decides to start riding, he or she will buy a new riding jacket and start adding patches to it. But how many patches do you really need to your jacket? You can continue to buy patch after patch if you want, but there's only so much space on your jacket. So how many patches do you really need to make your biker jacket look great? That all depends on several things.
First, of course, is how large your jacket is. If you don't have a lot of room on it, you're obviously going to be limited to how many patches you can put on it. You may have to work around pockets, seams, zippers, and the like, especially on the front of the jacket. In fact, there's often not a lot of room for patches on the front. However, usually the back of your jacket has plenty of space.
Then you need to consider what type of patches you're going to get. A large patch is going to take up most of the room on the back, leaving little space for other patches. Some small patches, however, can be put on the front of your jacket, and some can even fit on the sleeves.
You also need to take into account how much space you want between your patches. Putting them all right up against each other isn't the best look. You'll want to be sure that they are evenly spaced, too. Putting a lot of space between some patches and not much between others will make your whole jacket look off. The best idea is to lay the jacket out and map out where you want all of your patches before you start attaching them.
