Is a Motorcycle Club a Good Fit For You?

There are a lot of bikers out there who love spending time with their fellow biker club members.  They are very social and enjoy riding with others, stopping to take in the sights and enjoy a meal with their friends.  However, on the other hand, there are some people who aren't very social.  They like to ride on their own schedule, stopping and starting again when they feel like it.  They don't have much use for biker clubs, seeing them as being too political or full of cliques that aren't very inviting to new members.  Would joining a motorcycle club be a good fit for you?  Here are a few things to think about if you're considering joining one.

Motorcycle clubs are about riding, yes, but they're also about being social.  In addition to biking together, many clubs hold monthly meetings and have holiday parties.  Some might even hold events or participate in other club's activities.  If you're not a social person, you probably won't enjoy these aspects of a club and may be happier being a lone wolf.  Also, while it's not true of all clubs, some groups do have certain people who want to run everything.  There are attitudes to deal with, same as when any group of people come together, and that can really annoy some people.

On the other hand, there's a lot of fun to be had by joining a biker club.  You get to travel with others and share your experiences.  You might find someone who has that specific biker jacket or patch you've been looking for, or you may find someone who can help you with that odd noise your bike always seems to make.  The friends you make riding could become friends for life.
