Kids Can Have Fun with Patches

A lot of adult motorcycle riders put sew on patches on their jackets to customize them and help create a cool theme.  Anyone can wear some of these patches, even if they're not a biker.  For example, a lot of the sayings patches, Native American animal patches, and the Zodiac sign patches don't really have anything to do with motorcycles, so you don't need to be a biker to appreciate them.  Some of these patches are also appropriate for children and teens.  You can help them pick out some of their favorite patches and turn their jackets and other items into personalized items they will love showing off.

There are obviously some motorcycle patches that shouldn't be used on kid's clothing because they're adult in nature.  They use language or images that aren't appropriate for children.  But there are plenty of others that are.  Another restriction is that younger kids will have smaller jackets, so there won't be as much room on them for appliques and cheap patches.  Larger patches may not fit at all, while you might have to limit your smaller ones to just a few.

Finding and creating your kid's jacket can be a lot of fun.  The two of you can go to biker rallies together and look online to find the perfect patches for his or her jacket.  It can be a bonding experience for the two of you.  You can even get a matching patch or two for your jacket.

Of course, as your children grow, you'll eventually need to get them a new jacket.  Then you can start the process over again.  That's actually a good thing because as they get older, your kids tastes and likes will change, and they may find patches they like better.
